The joys of spring – monitoring deer densities

By March 27, 2016May 22nd, 2019No Comments

We’ve been away this month re-locating some old transects on an estate up north.  We previously surveyed the site in 2013, and since then a very large number of deer have been culled from it (in fact, in the first year the cull added almost 1% onto the entire national woodland deer cull).  Great to see the site again, and immediately note some possible changes in deer distribution.  It will be exciting to head back in June and see get the main data set gathered, to see by what margin deer densities have changed since 2013.
