National deer damage survey completed

We’ve just completed a national survey of all recent forestry re-planting sites in Scotland for FLS.  It’s a massive task, involving visiting 450 sites.  The fieldwork involves measuring deer browsing impacts on each type of tree and then comparing the results to previous surveys.  Lots of interesting trends apparent in the data this year, for sure…

We have spent the last 2 years working on a major strategic planning project with the estate and the community in Applecross.  A key output from the project was the creation of the Applecross Forum, in tandem with the development of a new estate plan for the Applecross Trust. An Applecross sunset & climb

A fantastic sunset over the Skye Cuillin this evening on the way over the Bealach na Ba at Applecross. Had an interesting meeting with the community whom we are currently working with as part of a large project with the Applecross Trust.  Interesting to see how the work is developing.
